Executive Search

Looking for your next leader?

Scale Health runs retained executive search assignments for regulated health organisations up to £50m revenue, from VC-backed scale-ups to established providers.

Short answer

Scale Health runs retained executive search for regulated UK health providers up to £50m revenue. A search runs in five stages: brief and scope with the board, a market map agreed before approach, direct approach of mapped leaders, a written shortlist assessment, then offer management and onboarding support.

How does Scale Health executive search work?

01 · The mandate

Leaders who are both clinically excellent and commercially sharp.

Growth-stage health needs a specific profile: leaders who understand governance, indemnity and clinical risk, but can also build a P&L, ship a product and hire a team.

That profile is rare, well-networked and rarely on the open market. Our job is to find them, brief them properly, and give you a shortlist you can confidently move on.

Our core market is the UK and Europe. We also run a growing US practice, typically supporting American health organisations hiring clinical and commercial leadership. US searches are usually confidential, so they rarely appear on this site.

03 · How a retained search runs

Five stages, agreed upfront, with nothing hidden behind a fee.

  1. Stage 1

    Brief and scope

We work through the mandate with the board: the growth stage the leader is being hired for, the governance and clinical risk they will own, the pay band, and what would make the appointment fail.

  2. Stage 2

    Market map

We map the addressable market of leaders in regulated UK health who match the brief, including people who are not looking, and agree the target list with you before any approach is made.

  3. Stage 3

    Direct approach

Every candidate is approached directly and briefed properly on the business, the numbers and the clinical model, so interest is informed rather than speculative.

  4. Stage 4

    Shortlist and assessment

You receive a shortlist with written assessment against the agreed criteria, covering commercial track record, clinical credibility and the specific growth stage the role sits in.

  5. Stage 5

    Offer and onboarding

We manage the offer, notice period and counter-offer risk, then stay involved through the first months so the appointment holds.
